What Can I Do With A Major In......
Health and Physical Education
The majors in health and physical education provides students with teacher
licensure in grades K-12. Coursework in the discipline based core, professional
skills, and professional education provide students with a foundation in the
sciences, behavioral sciences, and field experiences.
Teacher preparation students, in addition to applying for Admissions to Teacher
Education and Student Teaching, must demonstrate eligibility for practicum
(HPS 4410 and 4430). This process is part of the Department's periodic assessment
of the teacher preparation students. Practicum forms and a detailed description
of the eligibility requirements are available from the departmental office.
