OwlLink Online Job Services System Frequently
Asked Questions
- What is the OwlLink (Symplicity) system?
-
The Career Services Center at Kennesaw State University is pleased to
offer this new web–based system for employers to post full–time,
internship, co–op and part–time job opportunities for current
KSU Students and Alumni. This system allows you to:
- Search for job postings based on criteria you select
- Become eligible for resume referrals and on–campus interviews
- Track your job search, including job listings to which you have applied
- Store up to 10 different resumes, cover letters, and other documents
related to your job search
- Send your resume and other application materials to employers
- Receive announcements about upcoming recruiting events
The system requires that the user be a registered student or alumni,
and that the user complete a profile and upload their resume into the
system.
- How do I register for OwlLink?
- At the beginning of each semester, all currently–enrolled
students will be automatically set up in the OwlLink database.
In order to complete the registration process, you should log into
OwlLink by entering
your KSU ID number as both the User Name and Password and click
the ‘Log in’ button, and follow the instructions on the
Student Registration screen to complete your profile.
New students will be set up in the OwlLink database by the first
day of classes for the semester. New students who register for classes
during the Drop/Add period will be added to the database after the last day of Drop/Add.
Students who are not enrolled for the current semester, but who have registered for classes
for the following semester, will need to wait until after the first day of classes of the new
semester before they will be set up in the OwlLink database.
Alumni who are not already set up in the OwlLink database should submit the
Alumni registration form.
Once you receive the e–mail informing you that you have been set up, you can then
log in as described above. Please note that your KSU ID number is not
the same as your SSN. If you do not know your KSU ID number, you can look it up
in Owl Express.
Students who graduated in 2007 (Spring, Summer or Fall) or 2008 (Spring) are already set up in the OwlLink
database and do not need to submit the registration form.
- What are my User Name and Password?
- Your User Name is your KSU ID number (not your NetID). The first time that you
log in, use your KSU ID number as the password. Once you have completed the registration
and have logged into the OwlLink home page, you should change your password (click profile
in the top navigation bar; you can then change your password in the Password/Preferences tab.
Your User Name will always be your KSU ID number.
- Where can I find more information?
- The Student Guide
explains how to: update
your profile information; upload cover letters and resumes into the system; how
to search for jobs and on–campus interviews; how to know if you’re qualified
and, if so, how to apply for a position; and, how to find information about
upcoming events.
The Quick Guide
is a handy one–page reference.
Of course, we’re also here to help with any questions you may have!
We hope you find the new system helpful!
